Zanesville, Ohio—Lauren A. King, Ph.D., 99, died Thursday, April 15, 2004. He was born April 17, 1904, in Noble County, IN. With a bachelor of arts from Asbury College, Kentucky, and a Ph.D. from Ohio State University, he gave his life to teaching in Christian colleges. In 1974 he retired from Malone College, Canton, Ohio, as a professor emeritus of English and literature. Prior to going to Malone in 1966, he taught at Houghton, Asbury, Wheaton, and Muskingum.
In addition to writing the book The Way We Believe (Barclay Press) he wrote and published a poignant book of poetry entitled Verses for Helen after his beloved wife of 63 years passed away in 1990. Lauren also wrote numerous articles and a week of his devotionals was selected prior to his death for reprinting in the summer issue of Fruit of the Vine.
