Arthur O. Roberts (1923-2016) began teaching at George Fox University in 1953 following completion of a Ph.D. in church history at Boston University. He was a recorded Friends minister whose service included pastoral, academic, and political leadership. Quaker historian, philosopher, lecturer, lyricist, and poet, he wrote many books, including Drawn by the Light (autobiographical), Sunrise and Shadow, Look Closely at the Child, Exploring Heaven, Prayers at Twilight, and The Sacred Ordinary.
